  16.  Subject:       Improve PLL lock up time
  17.  
  18.  Information:   The PLL lock up time on some units is not quick
  19.                           enough for all types of receivers.  The
  20.                           problem may be worse when CTCSS is used.
  21.                           Operation will appear near normal when
  22.                           the UX-49A is operated in simples mode
  23.                           with no CTCSS.

  27.   1.  Remove the top and bottom covers.

  29.   2.  Remove the main board and replace the following components:

  39.   3.  Add a 2.2 uf 16 VDC tantalum (ICOM P/N 918-01674) from the
  40.       collector of Q15 (positive lead) to the adjacent ground
  41.       (toward the edge of the board).
